Do you remember a time when the Indian rupee was used as a currency in Iraq? The rupee was the official currency since the British occupation of the country in World War I. For a while, up until 1959, the iraqi dinar was pegged to be right on par with the British pound, but overtime it went through some serious devaluation. At one point, the dinar trade value was wonderful for us Americans, because before the Gulf War you could buy Iraqi dinar at such a great price.
